The Site Isn't Loading Correctly
20 viewsIf the Battalion OS portal is running slowly, throwing errors, or certain buttons aren't working, the problem is usually a local connection issue or "stale" data in your browser.
1. Clear Your Cache & Cookies
Browsers save pieces of websites to make them load faster later, but if we’ve updated the software and your browser is still using an old file, it can cause the site to break.
Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
- The Quick Shortcut: Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac) to open the "Clear Data" menu.
- Settings: Set the time range to "All Time."
- Action: Check the boxes for "Cookies" and "Cached images/files," then click Clear Data. Restart your browser afterward.
iPhone/iPad (Safari)
- Open your device Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Safari.
- Tap Clear History and Website Data and confirm.
Android (Chrome)
- Open Chrome and tap the Three Dots (⋮) in the top right.
- Select History > Clear browsing data.
- Select "All time" and check the boxes for Cookies and Cache, then tap Clear data.
2. Fire Station Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Fire stations often have strict firewalls or "Captive Portals" (the pages where you have to click 'I Agree' to get online) that can interfere with real-time data syncing.
- The "Cellular Test": If you are on station Wi-Fi and the site won't load, turn off Wi-Fi on your phone or tablet and use your Mobile Data (5G/LTE). If the site loads instantly on cellular, your station’s firewall is likely blocking the connection.
- Signal Strength: Ensure you have at least 2 bars of service. On mobile devices, look for the LTE, 4G, or 5G indicator at the top of the screen. If you see "1x" or "E," the connection is too weak to run the dashboard.
- Airplane Mode Reset: If your signal looks good but nothing is moving, toggle Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds and then off. This forces your device to reconnect to the nearest cell tower.
3. Still having trouble?
If you have cleared your cache and confirmed your internet connection is active but the site still won't load, please open a support ticket. Please let us know:
- What device you are using (e.g., iPad, Toughbook, Android phone).
- If you are on station Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- What specific page is failing to load.
